Are Children The BIGGEST Source of Sentai Fans-PR Fans Wars?

As a co-author of this blog, I got this comment from its former administrator only known as DancingAlienDude (can't blame him for not fully showing his true identity like I am only using a pen name, I want privacy!):

I will tell you one thing, Sean. There are a lot more little kids where that came from. Whether they be Sentai or PR fanboys, we'll never stop them.

If we can all make blogs involving creating peace between the shows, we'll put an end to them soon.

Yup that's true. Based on my experience as a child, I can remember how I insist something is better and a fight starts because of it. Remember a little fire can destroy an entire forest. Super Sentai fans and Power Rangers fans who were usually children fought to which is better. Children are easily carried away into useless battles (that's why I call war freaks childish) like this and with children having Internet knowledge, I guess they're a major pain. And right, most of these are surrounded by cultural biases and colonial mentality.

Like how? For example, in the Philippines, Filipino children (REGARDLESS of ethnicity) tend to think that if its imported especially if its American it's better when it's NOT always true. Or another is biases against the West taught to Oriental children by their parents, which of course becomes another source of fanboy quarrels.

Another area of this can be explored with children judging everything by one's natural looks, not by the content. That is, a child can only choose to watch either of the other because of a pretier Sentai/PR babe. Hmmm... I have to admit I'm pretty childish to watch Power Rangers and Super Sentai for the pretty girls! Pretty characters DO NOT make a good script if they can't execute their parts properly.

Hmmm... reminds me of just how much like Takeru/Red Mask I was a child writing this!

There is no better series, its just whichever you prefer. They all have their ups and downs but its just a show. Power rangers wouldn't have existed without sentai, and sentai wouldn't have gotten famous overseas if power rangers didn't introduce us to the franchise in the first place. It equals itself out.

What's the point of you guys arguing which is better at the end of the day both shows are about guys in tights fighting evil.

Cultural Bias is a Problem with Fanboys

The thing is whether it be Sentai or Power Rangers, cultural biases do occur after all. Why? The thing is Power Rangers is American and Super Sentai is Japanese. This of course creates dumb comments like "My series is better because it's from my country." That of course is a major source of quarrels. Here are some of the common examples of culturally biased comments:

• Sentai is so (censored) with all the Japanese stuff like karaoke night music, weird facial expressions (then again as if PR doesn't have it) and that American stuff is SO MUCH better because it's American.
• Sentai is so much better than stupid white stuff. PR's music is horrible with all that loopy music. Asian stuff is SO MUCH better because it's Asian.

That's just STUPID isn't it?! The thing is Power Rangers isn't multiracial just for the sake of the script. IMO it's to promote cultural unity in a culturally diverse country like America. That's why in my PR Sword Dynasty fan-fiction, I even had to do what I believe can't be done in actual- an Asian red ranger.

What is most ignored are the following:

• Toei allowed Saban to franchise Power Rangers. Power Rangers is still owned by Toei and they can choose to revoke the rights to further produce the shows.
• Without Super Sentai, there won't be Power Rangers.
• Cultural biases are a major source of quarrels plus it's going to hurt families who are happily married despite the fact that one's Asian, the other's American in origin. Also it's going to hurt half-breed children in the process. I've heard that there's already a good amount of Asian-American marriages in America already.
  

Examples of Sentai Fanboy Comments

Sean has dealt with PR fanboys in the past, according to his previous blog post. I've decided to share a little bit of mine, too. Not only have I been harassed by Sentai fanboys, but Kingdom Rider has several times.

It appears that little kids who cuss people out happen to be all kinds of fanboys, too. The two above are good examples of these 10-year olds who apparantly hate PR with a passion just like every other fanboy of Super Sentai. Perhaps Sentai came to them when they were much younger, and due to the maturity and violence of Sentai that have gotten into their heads they weren't able to realize it was only a kids TV show in Japan.

I'm a much bigger Power Rangers fan than Sentai. Though I do love Sentai, too, I believe these people have no right to attack Power Rangers in any way. Saban wouldn't ever screw up Sentai, at least he did the least to make it great compared to Sentai.

The thing is this kind of mentality is a big problem and this blog won't tolerate it. And yup the children of the U.S. don't know much about Sentai except that is if they grew up or something, or watched Japanese television. However such a comment above is so full of hate... and not to mention the American superiority mentality.

Pissed Sentai 2000x? I don't think so. Honestly speaking, Toei allowed Saban to create Power Rangers so they can penetrate the American market so why write such comments? I hope I'm doing a good job even if I like Sentai more.

And for one thing, Power Rangers has a multi-cultural team so why lash Japan? Even if Sentai's an all-Japanese team, however the team has been friendly to its half-breed members if there are any that appear. Also, I believe Saban's purpose of creating Power Rangers was to blend in East and West concepts. After all, the purpose of this blog is to stop the severity of both sides right? Besides, there were plenty of interracial romances in Power Rangers too.

Many Fanboys Whether PR or Sentai Can Get Annoying

This is just the plain truth. Fanboys can get annoying because of the following reasons I've experienced:

• Their fierce loyalty can also cause them to mock the other franchise like how Tanba mocks Takeru and Genta in Shinkenger.
• They openly bash the other franchise in a very degrading manner. I've experienced that.
  
• If that is not all, cultural biases can come in as well. I've read how PR fans make degrading comments about Super Sentai and vice-versa. It's just like "It's Japanese, ugh." or "It's American, ugh." There has also been some racist attacks against Asians done by some white Americans and vice-versa. Just try watching "The Bruce Lee Story" to see what I mean.

Recently, my friends Sean and FL have been a little upset that I've been too biased on the Power Rangers side with this blog. I've decided to support Sentai in one entry to prove to them and all of my fans the true purpose of this blog.

Onto business, I understand Sentai fans will also be attacked by the really mean Power Rangers fanboys. I AM NOT approving of that kind of behaviour, so please don't get that idea. I also understand that Power Rangers fanboys will also grow very immature to the fact they troll every Sentai video they see. In fact, I know one angry Power Rangers fanboy, who is also a troll. Please comment if you'd also like to see the immaturity of the PR fandom.

I'm not only angry at the fanboys themselves. But many typical PR fans are purists of the original series of MMPR. Yes, it's true. Several PR fans, MMPR in particular, have always hated and shunned every Power Rangers season after Zeo because they thought it was total crap. They never even took the time to appreciate one episode of Super Sentai...

Please remind me if you are feeling very threatened of the PR fandom to all Sentai fans. With your voice, it brings us closer to finding a solution to the war between Sentai and Power Rangers.
